MEDICATION CONCERN / ADJUSTMENT VISIT

Individuals with an existing psychiatric diagnosis who are experiencing medication concerns, side effects, worsening symptoms, or questions while awaiting follow-up with their established provider.
This Visit May Be Appropriate If...

You have an established psychiatric diagnosis and are CURRENTLY under the care of a provider treating this diagnosis.

You are currently taking psychiatric medication regularly and have concerns about effectiveness or are experiencing side effects.

Your symptoms are worsening and you are in the middle of appointments and are unable to see your established provider in a timely manner

You have been recently discharged from a facility within the past 30 days (MUST provide paperwork) and need a refill while waiting to be seen by a future provider.
During This Visit
The provider will:

Review current symptoms

Assess treatment response

Evaluate medication effectiveness

Assess side effects

Update treatment recommendations

Make medication adjustments when clinically appropriate

Provide bridge care while you await outpatient follow-up

Example of Who May Benefit From This Type of Visit:
A 36-year-old female with depression and anxiety has been taking Effexor for two months but has developed insomnia and distressing nightmares. Her next psychiatric appointment is not for several weeks, and she is seeking guidance regarding her medication.

BRIDGE REFILL VISIT
$125
Best For:
Individuals who are psychiatrically stable and need temporary continuation of an established non-controlled psychiatric medication while transitioning between providers.
This Visit May Be Appropriate If...

You have a current psychiatric provider and established treatment history and are unable to wait to be seen

You are on a stable psychiatric medication regimen that is effective and have no medication concerns
-
You are running out of medication before establishing with a new provider AND your medication can be verified.
The provider will:

Verify your current medication regimen

Review current symptoms
-
Assess medication effectiveness and tolerability

Complete a brief safety assessment
-
Determine whether a short-term bridge refill is appropriate
During This Visit
This Visit Is NOT Appropriate If...

You have missed more than 5-7 days of your medication.

You require medication that is a controlled substance.

You feel the medication is not effective and/or you are experiencing side effects and have concerns.

You do not currently have psychiatric care set-up or established.
Example of Who May Benefit From This Type of Visit:
A 43-year-old male with Major Depressive Disorder, PTSD, and Generalized Anxiety Disorder takes Duloxetine, Prazosin, and Abilify. He recently changed practices and is unable to obtain an appointment before he runs out of medication. He is stable and needs temporary continuation of treatment.

Bridge refills are intended as temporary continuation of established treatment and do not replace ongoing psychiatric care.

Controlled substances are not prescribed, refilled, initiated, or continued.

Significant symptom worsening may require a Medication Concern/Adjustment Visit instead.
